The Greek Thrace Project of China Energy has a total installed capacity of 78.2 thousand kilowatts and produces about 160 million kilowatts of green electricity per year, which means that one out of every 330 lights in Greece is lit by the Thrace Project. The electricity produced by the project can save 53,000 tons of standard coal per year, which is equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 150,000 tons per year, and is equivalent to planting 360,000 trees per year. This is not only a positive contribution to the local environment in Greece, but also an impressive performance of Chinese enterprises in the international renewable energy market.
